Show A Ghostly Surprise. The- spacious residence of Mrs. E H. Little, 213 W. Second South street, was thrown into a castle ol mirth and pleasure last evening by some eighty invited friends of; Miss Mary Little, who was most agreeably surprised and delighted with the party given in her honor by her mother, under the supervision of Mr. T. K. Little; A. Mairj J. Hillstead, Mrs. Wade, Miss E. Little and Miss S. Stevens. It was to be one of those amusing amus-ing sheet-and-pillow-case masquerades, and such it proved to be in the full sense of the term. At half-past 7 o'clock last evening the ghost brigade came out from their several sev-eral hiding places and congregated at the residence of Mrs. A. A. Cummings, 128 W. Second South street, from where they marched in silent procession to the place of high carnival. Everything mystic in the shape of spooks, hob-goblins and quaint spirits from the obscure "far away" seemed to be present, and to have captured cap-tured every nook and corner of the big Little residence, from cellar to garret! Shortly before midnight the sheets and pillow cases were thrown aside and dancing, music, games, ghost stories and everything varied and enjoyable in the ! make-up of a delightful" surprise party was indulged in. The sumptuous supper was pronounced par excellence in every particular, and far more substantial and choice than Salt Lake ghosts are familiar with. After exchanging compliments of the phantom order the large party quietly dispersed to their respective haunts with their sheets and pillow cases in hand. - |
