Show Slower Honors Recent Dritfe Mrs. Bill Boren. nee Miss Mildred Mil-dred Tanner, was honored Monday Mon-day afternoon at a bridal shower show-er at the Myton Ward Chapel, with Lorraine Allred and Shirley Shir-ley .Tanner as hostesses. Many lovely and useful gifts wert presented to . the . bride by a host of friends, who enjoyed an afternoon of games and a delicious de-licious lunch. ' Mrs. Boren will leave late this week to join her husband, who is serving in the U. S. Air-Force, Air-Force, stationed at Lowry Air Force Base near Denver. SUNDAY CLUB MEETS The Sunday Night Club members mem-bers were guests of Mr. ana Mrs. W. H. Linck Sunday evening eve-ning to enjoy a delicious supper followed by an evening of bridge. Their guest, list included Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mrs. Bliss Lott, and Miss Alice Todd. Prizes were won by Miss Todd, Mrs. Lott and Mr. Robinson. Rob-inson. SCHOOL ENDS The Myton Elementary School celebrated the closing of the school year Friday when parents par-ents and friends gathered to watch and applaud the Field Day events and to enjoy an interesting program. THURSDAY CLUB Mrs. Lynn Dean was hostess to the Thursday Club at her ranch home last week. Present were Mrs. John Uresk, Mrs. De-vere De-vere Hancock, Mrs. Ted Monks, Mrs. H. C. Cooper, Mrs. Dee Iorg, Mrs. Jack Giles, Mrs. A. C. Tolboe and Mrs. Rex Lamb, who enjoyed the informal "get-together" "get-together" and delicious refreshments. refresh-ments. HEAR YOUNG PEOPLE The Westminster College Gospel Gos-pel Team held services at the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon. af-ternoon. Three girls and three boys comprised the group which presented the iprog-ram. A vocal solo and a vocal duet by members of the Gospel Team furnished the musical selections. A large audience was present pres-ent to greet the youthful group. Pvt. Doyle Lisonbee, who has been home on furlough to visit his parents, Merrell Lisonbee and Mrs. Lena Lisonbee, left Thursday for Camp Stoneman, California, where he will be stationed prior to overseas duty. Mrs. A. L. Schuckers returned re-turned Thursday from a week's visit in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was accompanied ac-companied on the trip by Mrs. Grace Roden, Mr. Schuckers' aunt, who had been visiting here and was enroute to hei' home in Reynoldsville, Penn. Alice Nick, also a student at the Indian School at Phoenix,' Arizona, , spent a few days here with her aunt, Janie Nick Hamilton, Ham-ilton, before going to Tooele to visit her father, John Nick. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Quin-tana Quin-tana and children, of Orem, visited last week at the horn'? of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Quintana. Mrs. Vaughn Harris and baby, ba-by, of Salt Lake City, visited last week at the home of her father, H L. Crapo, and also at the home of Mrs. Leonard Harris, her husband's mother. POPPY SALES GOOD The American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary members, assisted by several sev-eral girls and boys made a house to house canvas last Saturday Sat-urday to make certain everyone had an opportunity to purchase a poppy on Poppy Day. They met with excellent success. Plans have also been completed complet-ed for a program to be presented present-ed on Memorial Day at the Legion Le-gion Hall. Jeanett Accawanna, who has been attending school at Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Arizona, arrived home last week to spend the summer vacation va-cation with her parents, Mr. i and Mrs. Jim Wash Accawanna. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wood-ard Wood-ard have received the sad news of the death of their niece, Faunetta Pectol, one - year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fon Pectol, former Myton residents. Faunetta's twin sister died at birth, and the news of the death of the remaining tiny girl came as a shock to the Woodard family. fam-ily. Willis Dart, S.A., returned to San Diego Naval Base Monday after a short furlough spent at the ranch home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Dart. Willis will be sent to San Francisco, where he will be assigned to duty on the U S S Manchester. His niece, Glenna Dart, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dart, accompanied him as far as Salt Lake City, where she will visit relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart, of Duchesne, visited their daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. anu Mrs. James Dalgleish, last Fri-ay. Announcement has b-en received re-ceived of the arrival i baby boy, born May 21, to wr, and Mrs. Bernard Biltz at Midvale. Mrs. Biltz is a daughter of Mrs. W. E. Burton. Mr. and Mrs. Don Giles and family moved last week from the Holder house in Myton to the Floyd Ross ranch on South Myton Bench. Mrs. Homer Robinson went to Mt. Pleasant Monday to get her daughter, Faye, who is a student at Wasatch Academy. They will spend a few days visiting other members of the Robinson family in Salt Lake City before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. George Funk and daughter, Joan, went to Mt. Pleasant Sunday to bring home their son, Howard, who has been attending Wasatch Academy. A trophy presented to Howard as the outstanding athlete at the Academy, is one of the prized possessions of the young star and his family. Jim Shuckers, a student at "Wasatch Academy, returned home Monday. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Schuckers and his sister, Sally, drove to' Mt. Pleasant to bring him home. |
