Lowe of Franklin Idaho The marriage is scheduled to take place in the Salt Lake L D fc Temple on Wednesday, June o. Miss Rasmussen. a popular member of the younger sot, attended at-tended Uintah high school at Vernal and is a graduate of the B Y U school of music. Since her graduation she has taught music in the public school at Alton, Wyoming, Wy-oming, and at the Dixie Junior College at St. George. Lt Lowe also attended the B Y U. He entered military service serv-ice at the end of his junior year and served three years in the Navy, being stationed for one vear of that time in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The mother moth-er of the bridegroom chose a blue gown also and wore a pink rose corsage. Wendell Frcston. brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. . Jr. Social Culture Club The Utah Federation of Women's Wo-men's Clubs has chosen Greece as the country which they will help to rehabilitate. In order to further this project the Roose-Ivelt Roose-Ivelt Jr. Social Culture Club, a member club of the Federation, has sent to Greece thirty yards of new cotton material. The local lo-cal club sent material rather than finished articles of clothing, cloth-ing, thinking that there would be" better utilization of the cloth if garments were tailored to individual in-dividual requirements by the wearers. Altrus Club The final meeting of. the Altrus club for this season was held at the residence of Mrs. Norman Murphv on .Thursday evening, 1 June 13. Mrs. Paul Murphy pre-' scnted an excellent review of the hilarious best-seller, "The Egg' and I", a digest of life on a chick-' en farm. Duchesne Girl Marriss Announcement is made this week of the marriage of Lorna Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Moore of Ft. Duchesne, and Orval D. Gillcn, son of Mr. and Mrs Davis Gillcn of Sandy. The nuptials were performed in the Salt Lake L D S Temple on June 5. A wedding dinner and reception recep-tion that evening at the home of the bridegroom's parents in Sandy San-dy honored the couple. The bride was lovely in her wedding gown of heavy white silk, accentuated by a spray of eardenias. She was attended by Elda Barney of Ranellett. Keith Gillcn of Sandy, a brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Mr. Gillcn returned in February Febru-ary after serving twenty-seven months with the armed forces, nineteen months of which he was stationed in the European Theater of Oocrations. Mrs. Gillcn Gil-lcn graduated from the Alterra hkh school this spring. They will make their home in Myton. Marriage Announced I Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Gardner, of Salt Lake City former residents resid-ents of Neola, announce the re-ceift re-ceift marriage of their daughter, Lila, to Wallace C. Turnbow of Salt Lake City. The marriage was performed by President George Albert Smith in the Salt Lake L D S Temple on June 12. The bride, who graduated from the University of Utah on June 4, attended at-tended Roosevelt high school before be-fore moving to Salt Lake. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Turnbow of Salt Lake and was recently discharged dis-charged from the Navy Air Corps where he served as an ensign. Mr. Turnbow has attended the University of Utah two years and has completed a Spanish American Ameri-can lDS Mission. The couple left after their marriage mar-riage for a two weeks honeymoon honey-moon in Canada. Social Honors Mrs. Gardner Mrs. John Gardner, first president pres-ident of the Ballard Ward Relief Society, was honored guest Monday Mon-day afternoon at a birthday party civen by the members of the Relief Society at the home of Mrs. Charles Bingham. Mrs. Gardner was presented with a lovely gift, after which a delightful delight-ful luncheon was served. Family Party Mrs. Ernest Belts was guest of honor at a suprise birthday party given at her home Wednesday evening.
