Show 100 Young People Attend Annual Stake Function One hundred M Men and Gleaners were in attendance at the annual Timpanogos stake M Men-Gleaner banquet, held Friday evening m the Second ward chapel. Guests were met at the door and shown to the auditorium by a reception recep-tion committee composed of Marilyn Richards, Anne Marie Walker, Bill Told, and Wesley Walker. Dinner was served at 8 p. m. in the amusement hall. The tables were decorated with bright green nests containing colorful eggs and with tall yellow tapers. Clever little lit-tle Easter baskets filled with small candy eggs marked each place. Dean Walker acted as toastmaster and toasts were given by Everett West, Erva Kirk, Easton Brown, LaVell Boren, LeGrande Jarman, Ray Mills, Estelle Fenton, and President Pres-ident W. W. Warnick. During the banquet election of officers for 1940-41 was, held. Mary Mills was chosen for Gleaner president, presi-dent, to be assisted by Helen Warnick, War-nick, vice president, and Erva Kirk, secretary. M Men officers elected were Everett West, president, Ray Mills, vice president, and Alfred Dexter, secretary. After dinner a clever program was presented, which included the following fol-lowing numbers: a skit, "Easter Parades Through the Ages," featur- ing Helen Wamick, Gwen Adams, Laura Swenson, Edith Clark, Max-ine Max-ine Moyle, Thayne Bateman, and Mrs. Effie Adams; a tap dance by Lorna Anderson; a Hawaiian dance by Sherry Gray;- an accordian solo and tap dance by Norma Hampshire; Hamp-shire; and a skit by Ford M. Poul-son, Poul-son, rrank B. Newman, and Erval Christenson. The program was followed fol-lowed by dancing. The affair was under the direction of LaVell Boren, stake M Men leader; lead-er; Mrs. Don Mack Dalton, stake Gleaner leader, and Josephine and Harvey Smith, Gleaner and M Men presidents. Table decorations were done by the Second ward and the favors by Manila. |
