Show LuPrele R. Williams J : I Sanford R. Nicholes, Jr. Don T. Gillies Or. LuPrele Roberts Williams died Oct. ir. 19K7 at her home in Sun City, California. Dr. Williams was born in Lehi June 2(i, 1912, a daughter of David B. and Hazel Comer Roberts. She spent her early life in Utah, attending and graduating from Lehi High School and 5 seminary. i She went to California to work and while there she met and married Dr. Jeanne F. Williams April 17, 1938. It was later solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. She attended the Los Angeles College of Optometry. She worked with her husband in Huntington Park and her practice revolved around children. She opened an office later in Downey. Calif, and in Pberris. Calif. She is survived by -a son. Dr. Kugen I). Williams, La gun a Nigel, Calif.; a daughter, J o a n Williams, Temecula; three grandsons; four step grandchildren; a sister, Alice Butterfield. R i v e r t o n ; three brothers. Karl C. Roberts. Calil Don T. dillies, GO, of Lindon, died October 2(i. 19K7 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center of cancer. He was born May 16, 1927 in Vineyard, Utah to Joseph Smith and Cora Nell Williams Gillies. He married Donna Rae Parry July 8. 1947 in Elko, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Lindon 8th Ward. He attended schools in Vineyard and Orem. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy C.B.s '' l He had been employed em-ployed at Geneva Steel for 37 years retiring' Sept. 23. 1986. He is survived by his wife of Lindon; three sons and a daughter: Ray Gillies and Joseph Don Gillies, both of Lindon; David Parry Gillies, Orem; Mrs. Merlin (Judy) Jolley, I American Fork; 12 grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Michael (Thelda) Vicchrilli, Pleasant Grove; Helen Bergfielder, Orem. j Funeral services will , be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Lindon Stake Center, 600 West at 100 South. Friends may call Wednesday at the Church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary. ! yT0N . He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Argentina. He was employed by Salt Lake Valve and Fitting Co. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, P.vper Danise Nicholes, and a son, Colin Eli Nicholes, all of Layton; his parents of American Fork; two brothers and two sisters, Todd Nicholes, Kemmerer Wyo.; Mrs. Dave (Juli) Larsen, Clinton; Bar-tley Bar-tley Nicholes, serving an LDS Mission in Georgia; Alee Raelyn Nicholes, American Fork; his grandparents, Gilbert and Orpha Batchelor, American Fork. Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 22, in the American Fork 1st LDS Ward. Interment was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Dick R. Mortensen James Marshall Lloyd Vane Provost Joey Marshall, Margaret Donna M. Goodwin and Sharon Faye Marshall, all of Lehi; and one brother, Thomas Marshall of Portland, Ore. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, 1987, at noon in the Lehi City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wing Mortuary, Lehi, Thursday one hour prior to services. Dick Ruby Mortensen, Mor-tensen, 64, of Orem, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1987 at the St. Marks Hospital due a long illness. He was born Dec. 16, 1922, a son of Edgar Lawrence and Margaret L. Ruby Mortensen in Parowan. He married Barbara J. Shelton June 12, 1947 in McGill, Nev. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active High Priest in the Orem 98th Ward and held various positions in the ward in the past. He was employed by I ) ;. -. U.S. Steel Geneva Works in the pipemill. He was also a general contractor, building homes in Utah County. Survivors include his wife of Orem; three sons and one daughter: Bradley L. He was born Aug. 22, ,911 in Midway, to i. james Albert and ! sarah Duke Provost. He married Marion Son-deregger Son-deregger Nov. 30, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the Navy Seabees in World War II, He was a retired sergeant at the Utah State Prison. He was an active High Priest in the LDS -' Church. He was currently serving as a i temple worker in the Ptovo Temple, serving (or the past 10 years. He filled a stake mission in the Alpine Stake. He s - C served as an Aaronic Priesthood leader, four times Elders Quorum president, four time High Priest leadership, three time Sunday School superintendent. He had visited 15 temples and traveled 49 states. He was director of the Senior Citizens for the past eight years. He is survived by his wife, American Fork; two sons, two daughters: Melvin Provost, American Fork; Vernon Provost, South Jordan; Mrs. Thomas (Luella) Thompson, Riverton; Mrs. Johnny (Alice) Harrison, Spanish Fork; 17 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 . a.m. in the American J Fork West Stake I Center, 165 N. 350 West. Friends may call at the r Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 I North, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the J Midway City Cemetery. r Floyd Stoker White j Floyd Stoker White, 13, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1387 at his home in .Richmond following a 'long illness. " ! He was born July 5, 1914 in Lehi, a son of H.J. and Dorothy 5 Stoker White. He , named Fern Rothe on jnl Dec. 17, 1937 in the Salt ' i Uke LDS Temple. She 7,m fied in 1941. He married '( Ruth Jensen April 3, 1912 in the Logan LDS mfjl , Temple. 5 I He was raised in Lehi t there he attended ' I rtool and graduated y1 hm Lehi High School. Be graduated from M State University f in 1M2. He worked in Rebuilding trade and s a contractor. He was educator, teaching utetrial arts at Tooele High School and Tooele Junior High School and also at North Cache High School. In 1955, he became proprietor of White Builders Supply in Richmond and was a successful businessman until his retirement. He was honored as a life member of the Mtn. States Building Materials and Lumber Dealers Association in 1985. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many positions, including Sunday School president and teacher, young men's MIA program, ward financial clerk, and high priest group assistant at the time of his death. jj He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 60 years. Survivors include his i wife of Richmond; J three sons and one daughter: A. Brent White, Logan; Harold R. White, Lewiston; r Mrs. Gary (Ruth Ann) Chambers, North Logan; Douglas F. White, Richmond; 21 grandchildren; a brother and two sisters: Robert White, Mrs. Mildred Dean and Mrs. Edith Monson, all of Lehi. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathryn, a brother and a sister. Burial was in the Richmond City Cemetery. |
