Show CCC Camp Invites Public To 'Open House April 5; To Celebrate 7th Birthday The entire personnel of the Pleas-antt Pleas-antt Grove Civilian Conservation Corps extends a cordial invitation to the people of the vicinity to join with them in celebrating the seventh anniversary of the Corps at an "open house" in the camp on Friday, Fri-day, April 5. The program will get under way at 2 p. m. when members of the camp will act as guides to take the visitors on an inspection tour throughout the camp and explain the life of an enrollee in the camp. Explanations will also be given as to how the camp is managed. At 3 p. m. the Harrington school orchestra under the direction of Mr. Rulon Brimhall will give a concert and at 4 p. m. the Pleasant Grove high school band will be heard in a 45-minute program. Refreshments will be served at 4:45, and a softball game between the members of the camp and the Pleasant Grove high school will conclude con-clude the day's activities. April 5, 1940, marks the end of the seventh successful year since the CCC's were organized. The idea of the "open house" is to acquaint more of the public with the work that is being done. Also, since all of the enrollees of the company are Utah boys, the camp is desirous of becoming better acquainted with the rest of the community. |
