Show Plans For M. I. A. Work Ois-Gussed Ois-Gussed At Trl-Stake Conference 310 Attend Sessions; Lehi Stake Wins Honors In Contest For Attendance; Fourth Ward In Al-pine Al-pine Stake Has 100 Per cent. J Plans for the coming season's ' work were discussed at the annual j convention of the M. I. A. workers ol ! the Alpine, Lehi arra Timpanogos j stakes, held at the Alpine Stake Tab- ernacle, Sunday. More than 300 1 people were in attendance at the j sessions held. Lehi Stake won the honors in an attendance contest held in connection connec-tion with the convention having 84 per cent of their officers present, Alpine Stake was represented with 79 per cent, and Timpanogos Stake with 73 per cent of the enrolled officers. The winning stake was presented with a large printed copy of the slogan by the general board-The board-The Fourth ward of the Alpine Stake I won a dozen new M'. I. A. song books for having 100 per cent of their i officers and teachers present, a gift j of the Stake board- The General board of the M. I. A. was represented by the following: George H. Brimhall, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Taylor, John Giles, Homer Warner, Herbert H. Maw, Mrs. Julia Baxter, Mary C. Kimball and Charlotte Char-lotte Stewart. At the morning meeting Mrs. Kim, ball discussed "Organization and Membership"; Mrs- Taylor talked on "Finance Antl Publication" and President Brimhall gave expressions on "Monthly Joint Programs". "Questions In Executive Problems" Prob-lems" was the main topic at the I afternoon session, which convened j at 2 o'clock, given by Crarlotte Stew- 1 art. John H. Taylor spoke on "M. I A. Radio Programs" and Herbert Maw talked on the "Slogan". Continuous sessions were held throughout the iday from 9 a. m. until un-til 4:30 p. m. The various classes were all under the supervision of the general board members present. A delicious luncheon was served during dur-ing the noon hour. Musical numbers were rendere'd by Miss Veda Thompson, who sang a vocal solo, accompanied at the piano by Miss Genevieve Fugal and on the violin by Ford Poulson, and Rulon Nicholes, a vocal solo, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Humphries, George H. Brimhall of the General Board was in charge of the conven-. tion and conducted the afternoon meeting. A. P. Warnick, president of the Y. M. M. I. A. of the Timpanogos Timpan-ogos Stake, presided at the morning session. |
