Show Lelii World War Veteran Killed By Train At Tooele i 1 Odell Thomas, 33, was instantly killed in the smelter railroad yards at Tooele late Monday afternoon where he was employed as brake-man. brake-man. The crushed body ot the young man was picked up by the train crew-after crew-after they discovered he was missing in the switching operations. He had been crushed between two of the cars where he had gone in to make a connection. Surviving are a wife, Mrs. Jessie Scorey Thomas, one daughter, Lola, 4, his mother, Mrs. Julia Thomas Gurney, and three brothers, Elwood of Salt Lake, and Chester and Seymour Sey-mour now in South America. Odell Thomas was born in Lehl and here received his early training and schooling. When the World War broke cut he was one of the first men to enlist and served his country for twenty-eight months. He went over seas and participated in five of the great battles. Returning he reentered re-entered civilian life and of late has engaged in railroading. For some time he was an employee of the Orem line and just recently took the job at Tooele. |
