Mr. Ringwood stated that business commitments do not allow Him enough time to give proper attention to Commission matters. Tickets are $2 and are available from any Sof tballer. ' . The closing ceremonies for the 1973-7- 4 school year took place at Marsac Elementary School on Thursday, May 23, at 11 AM. After a welcome by Principal John C. Elwell and the flag salute led by Jim Marcellin, the Kindergarten class sang My Country Tis of Thee and Oh Beautiful.Presidential Physical Fitness and School Awards were then presented, followed by the Second Grade singing A Dash of Courage and : 6-- 8 Theres No One in the World Just Like Me. John Elwell, assisted by PTA President Ann LaGrange, then presented Sixth Grade Diplomas to the following: Alison Bingham, Kaylene Bitner, Sherry Boyle, Debbie Broadhead, Janean Bums, Laraine Burns, Linda Byer, Susan Byer, Shayne Cooper, Nancy Huhtala, Kay Kummer, Sandra Mackley, Susan Mann, Kristi Plummer, Sean Plummer, Angie Polychronis, Toni Riehl, Tamie Ringwood, Gena Santy, Roxanne Toly Kim Weaver, Scott Chantry, Marty Cowin, David Eley, Scott Evans, Shawn Evans, Scott Gaisford, Fred Gillett, Mickey Henrion, Mike Ivers, Jeff LaGrange, Karl Lambert, Louie Leatham, Jim Marcellin, Steve Maxfield, Barney Murnin, Jeff Murnin, Frank Nuneviller, Nelson Pinder, Terry Price, Seaton Prince, Randy Schaefer, Marty Stagg, Mark Uriarte, Kelly Wright, and Marty Wright. Next, Susan Mann, Class Representative, made some Remarks on the school year. The ceremonies ended with SOFTBALLER Swing Low Sweet Chariot and All Night - All Day sung by the Third Grade. A reception followed for the students and parents on the patio at Park City Resort. i i i ROUTE 248 CLEAN UP On Friday, May 24th, one hundred and twenty school children from the Granite School District conducted a clean up of Route 248 which runs from Interstate 80 to PTA Park City. The project was part of a study being made by the youngsters concerning the number of cans and bottles which litter the roadsides. The students are lobbying for a five-cedeposit on these containers. nt PINEWOOD DERBY A Pinewood Derby will be held by Cub Scout on June 6th at 6: 30 PM in the City Park. Pack 575 Cub Scouts and their families are invited to attend the derby which will feature a potluck dinner. Parents will bring silverware and plates, while the cubs will furnish cups and beverages. HISTORICAL SOCIETY WORKSHOP The Park City Historical Society will host a historical preservation workshop on June 7th and 8th, at the Memorial Building. The Friday, June 7th session will commence at 6 PM with Dr. Stan Layton speaking on Researching Historic Preservation. Following Dr. Laytons talk, a potluck dinner will be offered, and after dinner, an open discussion on historic preservation for Park City will take place. The Saturday session will begin at 9 AM with a presentation on Registers of Historic Preservation given by Mr. Kent Powell. Following a coffee break, the remainder of the morning session will be devoted to instruction on the taking of both oral and slide histories . A sack lunch will be provided for the noon meal. During the afternoon session, demonstrations of interviewing, acquisition of photo documentation and the writing of local histories will be presented. LOST AND FOUND PTA LUNCHEON The PTA gave its annual luncheon for the Park City teachers on Friday, May 24th, at Marsac School It was a pleasant ending to the school year. LOST AND FOUND Marsac Elementary School boasts an impressive collection of year-en- d lost and found articles. The assorted assemblage of clothing is the residue of a school years forgetfulness on the part of the students. Anyone who thinks some of his or her apparel may be among the collection is encouraged to come to Marsac and stake a claim. |
