Show THE TRAVELING SALESMAN j, 1 v:;.' Henry B. Harris will present James Forbes' comedy."The Traveling Salesman"- at the. Orpheum theatre next Saturday, ruatlneo and night,' December Decem-ber 17. The play, Which has been seen in Ogden before, haa been one of the greatest comedy successes of Uie past ten years, and the entire country has been covered from coast to coast by several companies of equal excellence. Mr. Harris, whose fame as a producer pro-ducer Is built upon his management of Rose Stahl, Robert Edeson, Elsie Ferguson, Helen Ware, 'The Third Degree," "The Lion and the Mouse" ami other well-Known attractions, enjoys en-joys tho distinction with the press and public of having always kept faith with them in whatever he undertook. If you see the Harris Imprint on the advertising mntter, you may rest assured that the attraction is above tho average, and that you will pass a pleasant evening In tho theatre. Although Mr. Harris has been the moat prolific of producers for the past several seasons, and has stood the brunt of manv failures during that time, ho has never yet bolstered up one of them, and inflicted it upon the long suffering public of what Is known theatrically as "the road." "The road" has had the samo careful care-ful treatment and consideration from him that the metropolis has, and this paper is willing lo stand sponsor for the statement. In the case of a pronounced success such as "The Traveling Salesman" and "The Third Degree," the demand la so great that several companies must he organized to tour the country, coun-try, nnd every place cannot see the "original cast." (How great a misnomer mis-nomer that sometimes is!) Tbe touring tour-ing companies are ofttimes better than tbe original, however, as it stands to reason that the mistakes made in the original casting of the play before It Is tried can be remedied when It is sent on tour. In the case of Mr. Harris' Har-ris' productions one company i3 always al-ways as good as another. Here the production is billed upon its merits and i not subservient to a "star." There is no star in "The Traveling Salesman," and so local theatre goers go-ers may look for a cast of uniform excellence ex-cellence when the comedy Is repeated here next Saturday. With this assurance tho press agent announces such well known players as Mark Smith. Dallas Tyler, Diana Ilun-eker. Ilun-eker. Dean Borup, Mark Price, Km-mctt Km-mctt Shakleford, Felix Krembs, Gideon Gid-eon Burton and others. Seats will be placed on sale at the box ofllce on Tuesday morning. |
