Show ELDREDGE lfi LI ADDRESS BOYS The hardships, thrilling experiences experien-ces ond pleasures incident to a 4 0no-mlle 0no-mlle pedestrian tour ncross the United Slates will be rehearsed by "Jack" Eldredge, of Camden, a'pw Jersey, nt the First Methodist church tonight. The lecture is given under the auspices aus-pices of the recently formed D. O. R. club and a general Invitation is extended ex-tended to the public. Many will doubtless recall a former visit to this city by Mr. Eldredge. It was .n May 28th that this remarkable remarka-ble young man passed through Ogden on his record-breaking walk across the continent. He succeeded in making mak-ing the trln on foot from Boston, Mass., to San Francisco, Cal., iu 77 days. The start was made from Boston on March loth and he arrhed at 'Frisco n June ISth after a journey which contained enough hardships to do one man for his entire life, Mr. Eldredge will tell his audience tonicht of his experience In a Missouri sand stoim, his battle for existence on t lie Great American desert and of his fight against Wyoming wind. This long distance walker is now on his way back o New York and the people f Ogflen should feel that they are fortunate . in being able to hear almost for .the first llmo the remarkable remark-able experiences of a man who has "counted" eery railroad tie between the Atlantic and Paeillc coists. Mr. Eldredge wlil probably resume bis trip back to New York on Friday morning. |
