When an automobile collided with a rig this side of the mil! of the Uintah Power and Light company last Friday afternoon about 6 o'clock, W. A. Kone, of Neola, was injured and Mrs. William Wil-liam Keel, of Neola,and James C. Peterson, of Hayden, narrowly escaped. Kone's right leg was broken between the ankle and knee and the left ankle was severely sprained. He was removed to the Clarke hotel and Dr. Bjorn-son Bjorn-son was summoned to administer adminis-ter aid. He is getting along very nicely and will soon be about again. The wonder is that some one was not killed in the accident. Kone and his companions were driving towards Myton, en route to the railroad. James Coltharp, of Rangely, and Jess Beavers, of Myton, were in the J. D. Beavers' Beav-ers' Ford car. Coltharp was driving. He says that when he started to turn out to the right to pass the rig the front wheel of the car struck a high place in the road and the tire exploded. The car plunged into the rig, striking its front wheel. Kone, who was sitting on the side next to the car, was thrown out. Both of his legs were caught in the spokes of the wheel. None of the other occupants occu-pants of the rig nor of the car, I were injured. The damage to both rig and car was considerable. consider-able. Mrs. Keel and Mr. Peterson cntinued their journey to the , railroad on Saturday morning. I Mrs. Keel is visiting her sister jin Salt Lake. She is to undergo under-go an operation while in that city. Mr. Peterson went to Price to meet his father and mother, who have been on a visit to Salt Lake. |
