Show Child Dies From Gunshot Wounds; 22 Rifle, Left Loaded, Takes Boys Life A tragic accident in Delta Tuesday Tues-day morning cost the life of a three-year old boy, Tony LaVerl Dewsnup, small son of La Verl and Mae Church Dewsnup. He died at 9:15 a.m. in the Delta hospital of a gunshot wound received two hours earlier. The little boy was at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Lorraine Church, when the accident occurred. occur-red. His 9-year uncle, Wallie Church was handling a .22 rifle an older brother had left in the house after a hunting trip. Wallie didn't know the gun was loaded, and accidentally discharged it. The shot went through the smaller smal-ler child's chin, severed an artery in the neck and lodged against the spinal column. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died two hours later. Surviving are his parents, a sister, Sydney Lorraine, age 1 year, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Church, Jr., Delta, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dewsnup, Deseret, and great-grandparents, j Mr. and Mrs. George Church o j Delta. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Des-ere Des-ere ward chapel, by Bishop O. L. Dutson. Burial will be in the Deseret cemetery, under the direction of L. N. Nickle and sons. |
