Show COUNTY TICKETS ARE FILLED SATURDAY AT BEAVER MEETS FOR LEGISLATURE OPPOSING CANDIDATES WILL BE GRANT TOLTON AND GEORGE JEFFERSON NEW CHAIRMAN The county conventions of the Democratic and Republican parties were held Saturday in Beaver. As far as can be learned, both meets were fairly harmonious. Grant Tolton was named candidate for the state legislature legis-lature by the Democrats. The Re-O Re-O publicans chose George Jefferson as their standard-bearer in the race for legislature. The former is a Beaver man, the son of the present representative, repres-entative, J. F. Tolton. Mr. Jefferson, is well known as one of Milford's merchants. The county chairmanship of both parties changed from the previous headquarters to other parts of the county. Frank Williams, of Miners-ville, Miners-ville, succeeds George Jefferson as Republican chairman. Mrs. Annie J. Atkin, of Milford is vice-chairwoman. The Democrats selected Ed Wilson, of Milford, as chairman with E. A. Griffiths, of Beaver, as vice-chairman. vice-chairman. The Republicans named C. F. Harris Har-ris of Beaver, and Herbert Eyre, of Minersville, as candidates for county commissioners. The two are present incumbents. Fred Levi, of Milford, holds over in office. Democrats elected Tom L. Griffiths of Beaver, as candidate for the long term as commissioner; Earl Thompson, Thomp-son, of Minersville, is their candidate for the two-year term. 0. A- Murdock, Beaver, and Sam Cline, Milford, were named as candidates candi-dates for the county attorneyship by the Republicans and Democrats, respectively. |
