Show Observe Anniversary Of Golden Wedding BEAVER, UTAH, Oct. 30 Mr. and Mrs. John H. Barton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Satur-day, October 27th, with a reception and dinner attended by eighty relatives, rela-tives, who came from California, Washington, northern Utah and from all over Beaver county. The family gathering met at the dining' room of the Beaver High school at 1:30 where tables beautifully beauti-fully decorated in gold and white,! with vases of gold chrysanthemums as centerpieces, were laden with a bounteous array of delectable foods. The dinner was followed by an impromptu im-promptu program in the auditorium, the happy event ending with a delightful delight-ful dancing party in the American Legion hall in the evening, to which all of their friends were bidden. Mr. and Mrs. Barton have been practically life-long residents of this county, Mr. Barton coming from Parowan where he was born in 1858, and Mrs. Barton and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Morgan, coming to the county when she was but a babe. At the time of their marriage in 187S both families were living at Greenville. Their marriage ceremony was solemnized by William Barton, father of Mr. Barton, he at that time serving as justice of the peace at Greenville. From early youth Mr. Barton has been interested in the growing of livestock and farming, and later be- came interested in various mining en-' en-' terprises. He at present is associated with his son, Kenneth, in the Beaver Drug. I' When, in 1896, Mr: Barton was elected el-ected sheriff for Beaver county, he moved his family to the county seat where they have since lived, having become widely recognized by hosts of ardent admirers from all parts of the county as among those who have "been tried and found not wanting." 'While scores of friends shook hands with this worthy couple ami wished them joy, scores of others were unable to do so, but will join the writer in extending congratulations congratula-tions to Mr. and Mrs. Barton upon having reached the golden mile-stone in their wedded lives under so favorable favor-able circumstances. |
