Cox, I take this opportunity of giving you some information through the local press. Mr. Cox was born in St. George, Utah, of pioneer stock. His school record includes graduation from the Dixie college and later from the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University. From the latter institution he received his Bachelor's (A. B.) Degree, having majored in Political Science. He also did some post-graduate work along this line at the University of Utah. After returning from the World war he attended the University of Chicago, Chi-cago, from which school he was graduated with the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence. Mr. Cox was admitted to the Chicago Chi-cago Bar Association and was for some time associated with one of the largest law firms of Chicago, Woolfe and Love. COME IN FOR A DEMONSTRATION OF THE BEAUTIFUL CROSLEY at the Why-Not Service Station (Be ready for Winter Motoring' with a new set of DUNLOP TIRES) Pertinent Questions on Prosperity 1 1 Why are the farm towns of Utah smaller than they 1 were ten years ago? 1 2 Why do the boys and girls leave the farm as soon as they are able? 3 Why was Bishop Nibley concerned about the shabbiness of the towns in Southern Utah? 4 Why did the canning companies close their doors? Why did they consolidate? 5 Why has farm land no sale value? Why so many fore closures? - 6 Why was land valuable in Wooclrow Wilson's admini stration? Common-Sense Answers I 1 Because capital will not go to the farms. 2 Because boys and girls find it more profitable to work for the big interests in the cities and industrial towns. 3 Because Southern Utah is becoming a great show place and poverty of Southern Utah is distressing to look upon. 4 Because Republicans could not or would not give enough protection. 5 Because there is no profit in farming. 6 Because in Wilson's time there was general prosperity. RELIEF The Democratic Party offers the only relief for this bad situation; tax reform and legislation which will make tariff operative on farm crops and give control over exportable export-able surpluses. The Republican party promises only a continuation of the last eight years of disaster. The flood of farm population to the industrial towns and the cities makes conditions worse for the industrial workers. Millions of people are unemployed now. Your own interest demands a straight vote for the Democratic ticket. The men named below were called to office by the unanimous voice of the voters. They did not I corrupt the electorate nor buy their place upon the ticket. GOVERNOR ALFRED E. SMITH FOR THE PRESIDENCY. PRESI-DENCY. SENATOR JOE. T. ROBINSON FOR THE VICE-PRESIDENCY. VICE-PRESIDENCY. SENATOR WILLIAM H. KING FOR THE SENATE. HON. KNOX PATTERSON FOR CONGRESS. GOVERNOR GEORGE H. DERN FOR GOVERNOR. CHIEF JUSTICE SAMUEL A. THURMAN FOR THE SUPREME BENCH. JUSTICE VALENTINE GIDEON FOR THE SUPREME BENCH. HON. MILTON H. WELLTNG FOR SECRETARY OF STATE. HON. O. K. CLAY FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL.; HON. L. JOHN NUTTAL FOR SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS. HON. JOHN F. MEND EN ALL FOR TREASURER. HON J. HARRISON FARR FOR AUDITOR. Can the Republican Parly claim freedom from corruption corrup-tion for their whole ticket?
