Show B. Y. COLLEGE NOTES. Instead of holding Theology classes Tuesday immediately after chapel the school divided and held three sepratc meetings. Tho ladles remained in tho assembly room where Mrs. Barber and Mrs. Lloyed addressed them. The speakers dwelt mainly on tho duties of tho girls in tho home. Mclvin Ballard addressed the missionary mis-sionary class and other students holding hold-ing the higher Priesthood. His subject sub-ject was the necessity of tho missionaries mission-aries becoming acquainted with the authenticity of tho Bible. Bishop Cardon of tho First Ward spoko to tho students holding tho lesser les-ser Priesthood. Tho class in Freshmen mathmctics completed Solid Geometry last week, They are now studying College Algebra. Alge-bra. The Usona Society met and rendered render-ed a very interesting program Wednesday Wednes-day evening. The rallies held Tuesday ovening by tho two parties "Equal Bights" and tho "Rational" of the Philomatlo Literary Society was very Interesting. Tho main question was: Shall tho ladles of tho society hold olllco. The speakers of tho Equal Rights party wero Geo. B. Hendricks, Ida Stocks, and W. W. Henderson. Each speech was followed by a song from the party glee club. Tho speakers of tho Rational Ra-tional party wero E. L. Marler, E. W. Pearson and Jas A. Godfrey. Each speech was followed by a quartette quart-ette from members of tho parti. All tho speakers did well. Perhaps thcro waa never a time in tho history of tho Philomatlo Socioty when more enthusiasm was shown than on this occasion. Mls3 Maud Smith is the Equal Rights nominee for president of tho Philomatlo Literary Society, and E. W. Pearson Is tho Rational party nominee. There will be an election Friday when all the student? who havo registered re-gistered may cast their ballots for the new president. Tho students In tho first year Greek arc making rapid progress. They commenced tho study of tho New Testament this week. |
