Show Herrick Funeral. Statu Journal, CKilun, WeiliiCMlay. Beautiful and Impressive funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Second ward meeting meet-ing house over the remains of Sarah Ann Garner Herrick and were attended atten-ded by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends who had assembled assem-bled to pav a last tribute of respect to the memory of one whom they had loved and respected in life. 'fhe services were under the direction direc-tion of Bishop Robert McQuarrle of tho Second ward. Music was furnished by the ward choir and by E. F. Tout and Miss Maggie Tout, soloists. "O My Father," by Miss MaggloTout, was rendered with soulful expression and the words of tho much beloved Mormon hymn fell with consoling power on bereaved hearts. Tho noble character of the deceased was eulo glzed by tho following speakers: Hlshop Taylor, Wm. Hurton, Joseph Standford, Pres. Middlcton, Mrs. Jane S. Richards, of Salt Lake city and Hlshop Robert McQuarrle. Benediction Benedic-tion was pronounced by Hlshop Alma Keyes. Many beautiful lloral tributes were presented by loving hands and the casket was banked with a profusion of llowers. Five brothers, Henry, Phillip Asa, Will, John, and Hlshop 11. J. Garner, acted as pallbearers. Tho latter dedicated tho grave at thd City cemetery. The deceased had three grand-children, but unfortunately only one, the youngest, was In attendance at the funeral. Lester A. Herrick Jr. was in Colorado and Icon Id not be located time to get him an opportunity to get to Ogden for tho funeral. Mrs. Jane Petorsen.who was out of town, arrived a short time after the funeral services had been held. Mrs. Herrick was the wife of aformor mayor of Ogden, Lester Les-ter J. Herrick. Tho deceased passed away at Logan at the homo of her son. The remains wori brought to this city and taken to tho home of Mrs. Agnes Herrick, 2000 Washington avenue, whuro the casket was open for several hours ttn the day of the funeral. |
