His remains were discovered by a dog, and had been buried with but a light covering of earth. He was recognized by his clothes, the flesh all having decomposed from the bones, and by a peculiar belt he wore, which was a particular identification. The remains were buried at Grantsville on Saturday, a brother-in-law of the deceased having gone from Frisco to attend to them. The county authorities are working on the case, and the opinion seems very general that a man named Middlecomb, in the Penitentiary for cattle stealing, is either himself the assassin or was instrumental in bringing about the young man's death. The reason given for the suspicion is found in the belief that Jenson knew something about Middlecomb's cattle stealing, and fearing he might appear against him, Middlecomb assassinated Jensen to prevent such an occurrence. It is undoubtedly a case of murder, as the ball went in the back of the head; and just before burying the skull, the other day, the bullet fell out, it having been there ever since the murder. |
