Show Expands Operations Bowman's in Farmington FARMINGTON Bowmans Food Town of Kaysville has expanded into Farmington. Bowman Inc. has purchased the business and Richard Bowman of Kaysville has purchased the building that formerly belonged to Larry Woody. Bowman purchased both the country store and sandwich shop next door at 75 E. State in Farmington. Woody is planning to continue use of the sandwich building even though it belongs to Bowman, Bowman said. Woody is hoping to expand it to allow more services. Bowman is going to make some changes in the type of service available at the small store. Previously the store has been run like a convenience store rather than a commerce store. Because the store had been run independently, it was more costly to purchase stock, Bowman said. has been purchased by Bowman's of MARKET in Farmington Kaysville. Now that the place is affiliated with a larger store, Bowmans Food Town in Kaysville, the manager will be able to purchase items at bulk prices which will bring the price down for the consumer. The Farmington store will be albe to participate in advertising deals that they did not qualify for before because of their size. The advertising deals, as Bowman explained, allow a store to receive a display allowance for having a product displayed in a particular way. This will also help keep the price down for the customers. Bowman said. Bowman said he hoped to increase the volume at the Farmington store, because that would also bring costs and prices down. Fast moving items that do not move as quickly but are requested by customers will be brought down from the Kaysville store, he said. By SUE CURTIS Review Correspondent .Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting the Calico Kids! .The Calico Kids is a group of children between the ages of 4 and 11, who, through the help of Ua Reid and her daughter Kathy Smoot, will sing and perform right into your hearts with I Got songs like This Is A Great Country, Tomorrow and Feelin Groovy, Spurs, many others. The two women decided to form the Calico Kids group to help build confidence in children. Mrs. Reid is a substitute school teacher and also a teacher of violin, voice, and piano. Through substitute school teaching she said she realized a child that is self confident has a greater advantage over the child that is shy and backward. .The child who has a talent developed can express himself before others, build confidence, and continue to grow as he experiences the feeling of achievement and success, she said.. The songs chosen are intended to give them a good musical sense and to build values. They sing patriotic, popular Western and folk songs.' While they are learning to perform, they are also learning the basic fundamentals of voice techniques, Mrs. Reid said. They meet every Monday and practice for one hour. The Calico Kids have performed at school, ward parties and malls. The children also recently performed at the Ogden Tabernacle. Mrs. Reid says Sining is a good way for children to release anxiety and tension. Every child is talented. She told of a little boy that could not find the correct pitch. But because of his determination to belong to the group, and to her amazement, he sang a solo within a few months and was right on key all the way through. She says, Children never cease to amaze me. In one of her performances a child read; We love America. It is the greatest country in the world. Our duty and privilege is to keep her great. Many challenges face us. Lets be optimistic and keep building for our tomorrow. Dale's Upper Cut Opens in Layton LAYTON Dales Upper-Cu- t Barber Salon has opened at Beauty and N.
