DAVENPORT Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux The children of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis M. Davenport o' Paragonah are honoring their parents on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. anniver-sary. A reception will be held in the Paragonah Ward Cultural Cul-tural Hall on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 8:30 p. m. There will be a program and everyone is invited to attend. Mr. Davenport and his wife, Evelyn McBride, were married Aug. 26, 1918, at the McBride home in Paragonah. Their marriage was solemnized later in the St. George Temple. The day after their wedding Lew left for Army service training at Fort Lewis, Wash. He returned home after the close of the war, and he and his wife have resided in Paragonah Para-gonah most of their married life. Evelyn taught school in Paragonah for a number of years. She was president of the Y.W.M.I.A., in the presidency presi-dency of the Relief Society, tecretary of the Primary", and i held various teaching positions pos-itions in the organizations. Lew has worked in the sup-erinlendcncy sup-erinlendcncy of the Sunday School, worked with boy scouts and served as a councilman coun-cilman on the town board. He has been engaged in farming and recently retired from C. F. and I. at Iron Mountain after working there 21 years. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport are the parents of five children, Mrs. Alma (Norma) Topham, Douglas Davenport, and Mrs. Kay (Eve Lou) Lamoreaux, all of Paragonah; Mrs. Hum-' bert (Marion) Rosenberg, Cedar Ce-dar City; and Mrs. Gordon (Caxol) FamiworO, titowm. |
