Show EISHOP HEALY DEAD. The Catholics of New England at large and of Boston in particular will mourn the death of Right Rev. Jame3 A. Healy, for twenty-five years thu bishop of Portland. Me. In Boston Bishop Healy was recognized not only as a zealous pastor, but as a public-spirited public-spirited citizen. He represented the views and purposes of the Catholic? body of Boston on many public occasions, occa-sions, and his eloquence as well as his prudence in council did much to lessen the prejudices that had existed. He was a man of broad sympathies; he was highly gifted intellectually, and his force of character impressed itself wherever he appeared. As bishop of Portland he displayed rare qualities in a wider field of endeavor. en-deavor. He was eminently successful as an administrator, and the growth of the Church in Maine is largely due to his efforts. He was a charming companion, a splendid conversationalist, conversational-ist, and withal he always bore himself . 1 with the dignity and grac befitting hia high station as a Catholic prelate.
