Show IB 276 to BuB Frog Marina BULLFROG MARINA Actually located Just over the county line in Kane County, Bullfrog Marina is nevertheless accessible by land only from Garfield County's Utah state highway 276 in the eastern part of the county and a rough dirt road from Boulder. Bullfrog'Marina is located at the approximate midpoint mid-point of Lake Powell, on the north shore across from Hall's Crossing. Road access is provided by SR-95 by SR-276, SR-276, a two-lane paved highway high-way with sharp curves or steep grades. Additional road access is provided by a dirt road, suitable for passenger vehicles and pickups during good weather, but rough, and generally better for jeeps and four-wheel drive vehicles. The road traverses the Waterpocket Fold area of Capital Reef National Park and should not be traveled with trailers. Beautiful Lake Powell provides a variety of activities ac-tivities for the visitor, with houseboats for rent, superb fishing, swimming, camping, cam-ping, powerboating, waterskiing, picnicking, etc. There is a paved airstrip 4,500 feet long and scenic flights are also available. The fishing is very good around Bullfrog Bay and there are many scenic and historic destinations within a day's travel from Bullfrog. Motel accomodations at Bullfrog consist of 46 mobile units which can accomodate around 180 persons. Fifteen of these are housekeeping units with kitchen facilities and the remaining are non-housekeeping non-housekeeping units. There are J6 recreational vehicle spaces with utility hook-ups. In addition, the National Park Service operates a campground with 86 sites. The campground is equipped with showers and toilets and is located close to the Marina. Currently restaurant facilities at Bullfrog consist of a snack bar with a capacity of 81 persons. Food and other supplies can be purchased at the Marina store. Picnic facilities are . provided close to the Marina where there are 50 sites, all of which have shelters and barbecues. In addition there , is extensive beach area available for more informal picnicking. At Bullfrog there is a total of 126 boats available for rental. Seventy are houseboats of various lengths and 56 are powerboats power-boats and fishing boats. During the peak season these are used 100 percent of the time, with almost all rented in advance so it is r good to plan ahead. There is . a paved boat launch ramp, a boat repair shop, a Marina store with boating supplies and a gas dock. Included in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Bullfrog is one of five marinas located at various points all along the perimeter of Lake Powell which was formed in the early 1960's when Glen Canyon Dam was constructed. |
