Show Education Block Grants Ready for More Study m The new Education Consolidation and Improvement Act, establishing block grants to education programs in Utah has been reviewed and subsequently prepared for public study and input, according to Dr. Kent L. Worthington, Utah State Office of Education. The Utah formula to be used in determining allocation percentages of the block grant monies' has been approved ap-proved by the office of Education Secretary T. H. Bell. i To provide easy access to1 the information in-formation for the public, materials j have been distributed to each of Utah's 40 school district offices. Citizens are invited to visit their district office to make comments and suggestions on the block grant proposals. These input ideas should then be submitted to the Utah State Office of Education in Salt Lake City. . "The new Federalism fund-distribution fund-distribution method of allocating education dollars directly to tie states requires that citizens be aware of the block grant procedures ar.J .'hat they have a voice in determining distribution of these funds," added Dr. Worthington. |
