Show Henrieville Awarded $108,Q00 Grant Funds In qualifying for the Community Block grant funds, Henrieville placed fifth among all applicants. Williams praised the manner in which the town's application had been prepared and presented. With only .$394,000 total funds available under the Community Block Grant program administered by the Five County AOG, Williams said that all applicants together had applied for a total of $2.1 million in worthy projects and that competition for the funds had been keen. HENRIEVILLE John Williams, executive director of the Five County . Association of Governments in St. George received word Teusday from the Utah Division of Community and Economic Development that Henrieville will receive a total of $108,000 in grant funds. Fifty-four thousand dollars have been awarded to the town by the Department of Housing and Urban Development under its Community Block Grant Program. An additional $54,000 was awarded by the Utah Natural Resources and energy Commuunity Impact Board. The town will use the funds for construction of a new culinary water system. The package has been submitted to the Denver Regional Council for final approval and contractural arrangements with the applicant set for the first week in July The project, if no hitches occur, could start in July with one year allowed for completion. Four major parts comprise the project: work at the Henrieville Spring, filtering of the hig iron content of the town's water; replacement of 1,000 feet of four inch pipe with the same amount of six inch pipe with 10 vacuum air relief valves to be installed for greater water pressure, and the construction of a 100,000 gallon water storage tank, which when used with the town's present storage, will increase total storage capacity to 148,000 gallons. The culinary system is planned for 60 connections.
