Show 467 E 300 S SLC, UT 84111 Garfield Communities Schedule ns Independence Day celebrations are scheduled for almost every community in Garfield County, with a few communities com-munities celebrating together in keeping with a tradition that is as old as the county itself. Some towns hold a sunrise flagraising ceremony, others have a 1 community breakfast, almost all have children's races and other games, bake i sales, lunch in the park, Softball games and watermelon busts. With July 4 falling on Sunday, some comunities are celebrating on July 3, ' Saturday and some on the officially declared holiday, Monday, July 5. And some are celebrating on both. In Boulder, festivities will begin with , a barbecued ham dinner at the town I hall on Saturday, July 5. Family din ners are $10, individual adult plates, $3 and children under 12 $2 with everyone invited. An afternoon rodeo will be held with riders of all ages welcome to participate. par-ticipate. An open air dance at the tennis court with music by the Country Bumpkins .will polish off the day's activities. Tickets will be (2 per person. In Cannonville a flagraising ceremony will start the day's events at 6:30 a.m. On Monday an outdoor breakfast break-fast is scheduled for 7 a.m. preceded by an early morning bicycle race. In-dividauls In-dividauls interested in participating in the race should contact Anita Fletcher. Following breakfast there will be children's races, horsehoes and a Softball game. Jim Clarke is in charge of the afternoon's traditional water fight with a watermelon bust to end the celebration. Escalante traditionally will participate par-ticipate in Boulder's July 4 .activities and Boulder will return the favor on July 24. Hatch will celebrate on Monday also with a children's parade set for 9 a.m., and children's races to follow. A community program will be presented under the direction of Carma Sawyer. An afternoon Softball game will be followed by a watermelon bust. Henrieville will begin the day's celebration with a sunrise flag raising ceremony. At 9 a.m., there will be children's races and games with corn dogs, slushes, a bake sale and other goodies later in the morning. Still more games will keep residents busy with a watermelon bust to end the morning's activities. Activities in Panguitch for July 3 and 5 are under the supervision of the Future Farmers of America and the senior class at Panguitch High School. On Saturday evening the first of two sessions of the annual FFA rodeo will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds, with steer riding, barrel racing, buck sheep riding, goat riding and a calf ribbon tail pull. The rodeo will be followed by a dance at the tennis courts at Panguitch City Park. Monday's activities begin early with a parade at 10 a.m., and dinner at noon at the park for only $2 per person. The vehicle had apparently rolled and burst into flames with no one hurt. Possible charges against Lyman for leaving the scene of an accident and removing property from the scene, are pending, awaiting further investigation. in-vestigation. The third rollover took place about 5 : 50 p.m. Monday evening four and one-half one-half miles north of Panguitch on U.S. 89. A witness to the accident said the cause might be mechanical failure as the rear wheels appeared to lock. Driver of the 1973 Courier was Helen Harrison, Salt Lake City. She was transported to Garfield Memorial Hospital in the Panguitch ambulance by Emergency Medical Technicians along with her passenger Martha Nelson, of Tempe, Ariz, who was uninjured.
