" , I ...... . - . , f, Balloon enthusiasts will be treated to a special event this weekend week-end as the First Annual Panguitch Balloon Festival gets underway under-way on Saturday and Sunday. Some 25 pilots will conduct mass Balloon Festival Starts In Pansfuitch PANGUITCH The Panguitch Pan-guitch Balloon Committee in conjunction con-junction with Panguitch City will play host to a hot air balloon festival festi-val entitled "Chariots in the Sky," Saturday, June 30 through Sunday, July 1. Twenty-five or more colorful hot air balloons will rise in a mass ascension on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6 a.m. and an evening glow will take place down Main Street at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Balloonists from all over the southwest will be participating anJ they encourage the people attending the festival to get up close and personal per-sonal with the balloons. The pilots enjoy sharing the excitement of ballooning bal-looning and will gladly show volunteers vol-unteers how the balloons are inflated. in-flated. Festival attendees are also invited to chase and help bring the balloons down and pack them away. This is a good opportunity to really be a part of this beautiful spectacle and learn about this unusual and elegant sport. All the pilots are being trealed to lodging compliments of the local ascensions at 6 a.m. both days with an "evening glow" planned for 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Main Street. Balloonists are being treated to accomodations, compliments of local motel owners. motels and will enjoy a catered Dutch oven dinner. Main sponsors of the event are Panguitch City and ERA Brokers Consolidated and Garkane Energy, with some twenty smaller sponsors throughout Panguitch.
