Show MINERAL MOUNTAIN PULL OP ACTIVITIES William W. Moody, superintendent superintend-ent of the Beaver Range Mines company, com-pany, iB up from the Mineral Range mountain, nine miles southeast from Blackrock station, and reports the entire district is showing more activity ac-tivity today than ever before in its history, and, Mr. Moody has held largo interests there for the past twenty years. The Beaver Range Mines territory of , about a dozen claims is the oldest in the district from a development standpoint. To the north of it is the Antelope Star and Keno; to the east, the East Antelope An-telope Star, South Antelope, and to the south and east the Covex, Old Crater, Mammoth Copper and others. Superintendent Moody reports that the Chicago tunnel is encountering some favorable mineralization at a point about 300 feet in from the portal. This tunnel was started ten years ago by a Chicago syndicate, which took a bond and lease, but relinquished re-linquished it under the panic of 1907. The objective of the tunnel is to get under a prominent north-south north-south fissure which shows high-class lead-silver ore in outcrops. Mr. Moody brought up samples of the ore. Another 50 to 75 feet and the face will be under the ore deposit. To the south and east the company has a shaft down about 75 feet in a strong copper outcrop. This is in a parallel fissure in one of the Keystone Key-stone claims. The company has been carrying on other operations during the winter. There is not much snow In the district now, except on the ahaded slopes. Herald-Republican. |
