Show LIST OF POTASH PRODUCERS Producers of potash (stone ash or crude potash, black salts or black flux) obtained by the old time method me-thod of leaching wood ashes are writing writ-ing to the United States Geological Survey, Department of the Interior, complaining of a lack of market for their product. This seems to be an anomalous situation in view of the scarcity of potash In the United States and the need for potassium carbonate for glass and the caustic for soap making, and in laundry use especially. Thirty-three producers have reported re-ported to the Geological Survey an amount of over 600 tons of these materials, valued from 7 to 70 cents a pound according to the degree of refinement. This class of materials includes caustic potash, potassium carbonate, and potassium sulphate with organic and various kinds of Inorganic matter. The United States Geological Survey Sur-vey will be pleased to act as Intermediary Inter-mediary in bringing producers and buyers of these materials togethor. A list of such potash and pearlash particularly those who report a stock of material on hand, will he sent on inquiry. |
