Show BIG BEAVER MERGER, MOSCOW-RED WARRIOR IS NOT PROBABLE NOW There have been rumors for some time that a big consolidation of Beaver Bea-ver county mines was imminent. It was declared that a movement was on foot to merge the Moscow, Red Warrior and Commonwealth. The three adjoin with the Commonwealth the center group, and are located a few miles southwest from Milford. They embrace some of the most productive pro-ductive territory in the Star district. All are producers. The Moscow is controlled by Matthew Cullen, one of the veteran mining operators of the state, while the Merriotts and Angus Buchanan own the Red Warrior. War-rior. Overtures for the consolidated had been made some time ago, but yesterday Mr. Cullen declared that there was no likelihood of an immediate imme-diate merger. Relative to present operations, the Beaver Press says: "Interests is growing most pronounced pro-nounced in developments at the Commonwealth Com-monwealth and Red Warrior mines of the Star district. Both are following follow-ing well denned veins which are known to be in the main ore channel of the district, and each has over five feet of vein matter in the face which is the next thing to ore. At the Red Warrior the old producing vein has been picked on both the 200 and 500 levels on the opposite side of the fault, which terminated previous operations, and every round shows marked improvement. Ore is being mined from the old stopes that will net a handsome profit under the present metal markets. "At both properties the power is furnished for the machine drills by the large electric compressor at the Moscow mine. "The long bore at the Commonwealth Common-wealth is advancing at the rate of nearly 30 feet per week in the direction di-rection of the Moscow and through the heart of the district. There is no doubt entertained by those familiar fa-miliar with the country, in view of the recent developments, that this property will develop Into a big mine within the near future. The Moscow is producing more than four four-horse teams can haul away. Four more teams will be put on the coming week, to haul from the Cullen shaft while the other four haul from the old shaft on the west side of the mountain. This will be a banner month for the Moscow with the lead market above J8 and other metals correspondingly high." |
