Mark Nichols Mark Nichols, age 24, died December 5, 1978 at home, of natural causes. He was born July 18, 1954 in Cedar City, Utah, to Shirley W. and Edna L. Turnbow Nichols. Mark was a lifetime resident of Milford, and was a member of the LDS church. He is survived by his parents, of Milford; four brothers and one sister: Blaine W., Bahrain, Arabian Gulf; MaxT., BountifuhShirl J., Holden; Rodnie O., St. Anthonie, Idaho; Mrs. William Will-iam (Sharon) Shor, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral Services were held Thursday, December 7, 1978 in the Milford 1st Vard LDS Chapel. Interment Inter-ment was in the Tablona City Cemetery on Friday, December 8, 1978, under the direction of Metcalf Campbell Southern Utah Mortuary. Fern Nowers Fern Maurene Hickman Nowers, age 69, died December Decem-ber 8, 1978 in the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital. She was born December 11, 1909 inReed.UtahtoDeseret and Bertha Skillicorn Hick- Bountiful, Utah; Mrs. Toby (Bertha) Vigil, LaPuenete, California; and Mrs. Erma Smith, of Beaver, Utah. Services were held' on December 12. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery, Beaver, Utah, under the direction of Metcalf Campbell Camp-bell Southern Utah Mortuary. man. She married George-Nowers George-Nowers on October 20, 1930 in Ely, Nevada. She was a member of the LDS Church. She was an accomplished piano player. Mrs. Nowers was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Auxi-liary of B.O.F.R.T. Lodge 494. She is survived by her husband, George, ofMilford; one son, Eugene Johnson, Milford; one daughter, Mrs. Alexander (Donna) Durrant, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; five brothers arid five sisters: Sherman Hickman, Burley, Idaho; Jim. Hubert and Richard Hickman, all of Salt Lake' City; Gerald Hickman, Milford; Mrs.Stanley(Elma) Voorhees, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Peter (Evelyn) Van-wensveen Van-wensveen and Mrs. Ferris (Betty) Thurston, both of Compassionate services were held by his friends and the Milford 1st Ward Relief Society. Military graveside services were conducted by VFW Post No. 1546, with interment In the Milford Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Herb . Coon, Warren Johnson, Jim Sherwood, George Schaidt, Don Yardley, and Melvin . Walker. Honorary pall- bearers were grandsons: Bill Ferguson, Nolan Davis, ' Norman Davis, Kurt Sherwood, Sher-wood, Kipp Sherwood, Troy Hardy, Chad Hardy, David Ferguson, Don Ferguson, Dan Ferguson, Dean Ferguson, Fer-guson, Bill McDonald, Jim McDonald, Randy Williams, Willi-ams, Travis Beniah, Kim Williams and Todd Williams. Out of town guests were: Mrs. Nell Erickson, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Chad Bell, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Randy Williams, Wil-liams, Logan; Mrs. Gary Ferguson, and family, of Reno, Nevada; Lt. Also attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Williams, Nampa, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Williams, GarrisonjMr. and Mrs. Austin Williams, Garrison; Mr. and Mrs. Va-Jean Va-Jean Williams, Provo; Mrs. Adrian Baldwin, Cedar City; Mrs. Louise Roberts, Beaver; Bea-ver; Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson, St. George; Mrs. Nell Cartwright, Beaver; Mr. and Mrs. JohnWaggner, Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Gronning, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Noreen Johnson, Salt Lake City; Mr. Gene Stoddard, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson, fOBIWARIE0 Dan Ferguson Services were held for Dan Ferguson, 80, a long time resident, who passed away after a lingering illness ill-ness in the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital, on December 5th, 1978, in the Milford 1st Ward Chapel. He was born October 8, 1898 in Beaver to Daniel H. and Mary Elizabeth Huntington Ferguson. He married Odessia Williams on August 21, 1936, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dan was a member of the LDS Church. HewasaWorld War I Veteran; member of the American Legion and VFW Post 1546; sang with the Marine Corps Quartet. Dan was known throughout Beaver County for his fine singing voice as he took part in many different functions. He was also known for the many beautiful flowers that he raised. He worked as the gardner for the Milford Hospital for several years. Mr. Ferguson is survived by: his wife, Odessia, Mil- ford; two sons, Bob and Gary, both of Milford; three daughters, Mrs. D.V. (Betty) McDonald, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Mrs. Wayne (Luciel) Hardy and Mrs. Jed (Mickie) Thomas, both of Milford. One sister, Mrs. Nell Erickson, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Prelude and postlude music was played by Beth Edwards, with BishopShel-don BishopShel-don Albrecht officiating. A grandson, Travis Beniah, . gave the family prayer. "In the Garden" was sung by the trio of Gayle Gale, Florence Hiatt and Gladys Whittaker, accompanied by Beth Edwards. Robert Tomsik gave the opening prayer. Remarks were given by Bishop Al -brecht, and Eulogy by Leon Gay. "Tribute to Dan", written by Mikel Schow, was read by Gayle Gale, followed by a talk from Carlyle Gronning. Gron-ning. "A Perfect Day" vocal duet by Shirlene Barnes and Ramona Smith, was accompanied by Marge Mecham. The closing prayer was by Richard Banks, and the dedication dedi-cation of the grave was by another grandson, Randy Williams. |
