The budget hearing is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15th. The budget becomes more and more difficult each year as it is necessary to infuse more and more slate and federal funds to offset initiation. ini-tiation. There is revenue sharing, in -lieu of tax monies, CETA, Title II, V, VI, and many more. . The proposed budget generally calls for a seven percent increase in salaries for county employees, though some received no raise, and others, whose work load has greatly increased due to the above mentioned state and federal funding, were increased. The budget also includes funding for a pickup and car for the sheriff's department, and emergency equipment for all sheriff's vehicles. In other action, the Commission Com-mission sharply reprimanded repri-manded sanitarian, building inspector, zoning administrator, admin-istrator, O. Drew Larson, for involving the state in county garbage disposal. He was informed by Johnson that he had superceded the authority given him by the Commission. "We are aware of the problem," Johnson said, "but until the municipalities, who now operate the garbage dumps, request that the county become involved in land fill on a county -wide basis, we're not going to get involved. The state knows , our position, and we don't want them breathing down our necks." Larson's action caused Beaver City to pull clear out of the County Health Program. Johnson said, "You are not to call the state about anything without specific authorization from the commission. We will handle our own county problems." After discussion of the Attorney General's opinion that the county could not enter into the power generation, it was decided to proceed as before with the feasibility study. However, the county's intentions from the beginning have been an interlocal inter-local agreement with the county municipalities, or if possible the Southern Utah Power Federation. In any event, it was felt the feasibility feasi-bility study would be the first necessary step, no matter mat-ter what course might be taken in the future. Phyllis Symond, County Social Worker, and Charles Sullivan met with the board.
