Show J. E. Yither Funeral services were conducted last Monday in the Milford L D S Chapel, and Wednesday at the Neal O'Donnell Funeral Home in Salt Lake, for James Edward (Dutch) Yither, 72, who died of a heart attack Friday, May 23. At the time he was stricken Mr. Yither was "viewing wrestling matches over television at the home of a friend, Reedy Willyard. Mr. Yither was born in Covington, Coving-ton, Ky., May 14, 18S5, to Fred and Carrie Poinsett Yither. On Jan. 10, 1911, he married Lula May Feeney in Salt Lake. He had been a railroader for 58 years, starting as a call boy with the C R & D -Railroad in Ohio. Later he changed to roundhouse round-house work, and in 1901 made his first run as a fireman. He moved to Salt Lake, and in 1918 to Milford. In 1920 he made his first run as an engineer, for the Union Pacific. Mr. Yither retired in May, 1955. Survivng are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Naomi Vollhard, Los Angeles, and one granddaughter granddaugh-ter Connie Vollhard. |
