Show REDUCE MILFORD'S INSURANCE RATES One of the most useful organizations organiza-tions in any town is a good, well equipped volunteer fire department, i, Fortunate is the small town that possesses such an asset. And it is a real asset to every owner of improved im-proved real estate or personal property prop-erty in the community. Milford has """ the fire department. The depart ment has twenty members and the membership is limited to thirty. In years past, some of the most substantial sub-stantial men of this city have served their time on the local fire department. depart-ment. Properly equipped, such a department de-partment will reduce the local in-" in-" - sura nee rates far below the present high schedule. At present the department lacks sufficient equipment. At the regular semi-annual meeting meet-ing last Friday night, in the Odd Fellow's hall, the following were elected officers for the oinuing term: Ed. Denny, chief. Paul Comiskey. asst. chief. Sam Cline, president. William Cline, vice-president. Hnrrold Harrington, secretary. Larue Duffln, treasurer. The department expects to take on renewed activity in frequent practice prac-tice runs, a campaign for better equipment, and social features of a high order. Under the rules of the local department, all members must turn out at every (ire call. Twice each month is hold a regular practice run. Each member of the department is assigned his special duty to perform rnd he is expected to do his duty promptly and efficiently. efficient-ly. The News is informed that the department de-partment has done some excellent work in the past. Not a member receives one cent of snlar for his work. The citizens should take such an interest in this organization that it should ho the pride of Milford and thoroughly equipped for the important import-ant and often dangerous work which the members voluntarily perform. Let. everybody boost for an efficient effi-cient fire department and lower insurance in-surance rates. |
