Show ; MIDDIES ARE FIME ATHLETES Several Graduates of Present Year Have Been Able to Maintain High Proficiency. A number of the Naval academy graduates of the present year have been able to become prominent in athletics, ath-letics, and still maintain a high standing stand-ing in studies. Among the first 50 in scholarship, out of the class of over r00, are Gallagher, Olympic oarsman and captain of the football team; Dole, star lacrosse player and football back ; Jordan, member of the Olympic crew ; Hunter, the broadsword champion, cham-pion, and liruce Adell, the wrestler. All the class presidents are great athletes. ath-letes. Clyde W. King, of the first class, is the Navy's most noted oarsman and football player; William V. O'Kegan of the second class shines as a foot-hall foot-hall and lacrosse player, and is captain cap-tain of the boxing team, and Ira C. McKee of the third class has won his letter at football and basketball, and is working hard for his baseball Insignia. |
