Show INLUENZA CLAIMS ITS FIRST VICTIM Williaam H. Houchcn, After Hard Struggle, Succumbs to Fatal Pneumonia Feb. 1st. Influenza claimed its first victim in Cedar City for the present season last Sunday, February 1, when William Henry Houchcn, aged 34 years and a bachelor, departed thij life. Deceased was smitten with injuenzn somo ten days earlier, developed pneumonia, nnd after a short nnd valiant st Jg-glo Jg-glo ngainst the grim reaper, was gathered into tho fold of the grcnt mnjority, where ho has a brother, father fa-ther and several other near relatives. Willinm was an industrious, frugal and honest young mnn who had tho respect of all who knew liim. Tho sympnthy of the community is extended to tho njembers of this afflicted af-flicted family, which hns apparently had more than its share of troublo and sorrow in recent years. It is only a comparatively short time since tho father, William Houchcn, pnsscd away suddenly ns a result of pneumonia, while nppnrcntly in his prime, nnd soon after a brother, Fred Houchcn, fell a victim to a fatal accidental gun shot. , Pratt, a younger brother, hns been sick with influenza-pneumonia, but is improving.
