Show FORTY-NINERS SET FOR STAMPEDE TO MILFORD TONIGHT HOT TIME EXPECTED AT LEGION AFFAIR What has probably caused more discussion than any event in Milford for the past few months, is the Forty-Niners' Forty-Niners' Ball to be sponsored here tonight to-night (Friday) by the American Legion. Le-gion. During the past week, the ex-service men have gone ahead with their work for the affair until now only a few details remain to be finished. Both halls have been secured to make room for the crowd which is expected to attend. Brilliant lights will connect con-nect the Arion Hall, scene of the ball, and the Opera House, which will be the location of concessions. An old-time old-time orchestra will dispense music of the by-gone days at the Opera House; hot-dog stands, bar, and games will be running full blast. A prize of ten dollars will be awarded the most popular dancing girl at the Arion. Some' of the best examples of Beaver county girls' pulchritude pul-chritude will be provided for the dance numbers, and the Legion thought it best to provide the most popular of these girls with some form of recognition and reward. Festivities will continue until the wee sma' hours. Legionaires will not be allowed to shave until the affair is finally over, and whisker growth will be strongly in evidence at the ball. The dance is well advertised in about thirty neighboring towns as well as being the talk of Milford. Much favorable comment has been heard in regard to the way the boys have plunged into the work of putting over such a big affair, and has resulted in many new members signing up' with the organization. The membership member-ship roll stood at 37 a few days ago, ind by now has possibly reached the! forty mark. The Milford post has1 only been in receipt of its charter about two weeks. I |
