Show A TABLESPOONFUL AFTER EVERY MEAL Parowan should be one of the healthiest little towns in the state. We make thi3 deduction from the fact that the people down there are going in strong for tonics of various kinds- The Parowan paper deals rather extensively with the subject in its last week's editorials, and further information is relayed up thia way by persons who have had occasion to be in Parowan on dance nights. But after all, we don't need to go outside of our own county to make odious remarks about the success of our prohibition laws. Many Beaver Countyans are going after tonic as a builder of vim and vigor in great seriousness. At the risk of being called a wet, we ask, "Isn't it rather a shame that boys and girls of school age should be placed in contact with a social condition among themselves and adults which permits and encourages the tacit violation viola-tion (at least in spirit if not open), of our state and national nation-al laws?" Parowan is composed of the finest type of people in Utah, and that town is mentioned merely as an example of conditions which our prohibition laws are rapidly bringing about. |
