Show OPA Reports Shoe Shortage as Acute Mr T.einert of the Shoe Rationing Ration-ing Department of the OPA, was in Delta Tuesday on his state tour of Ration Offices in regards to shoe rationing. The shoe situation, according ac-cording to Mr. Teinert, is really critical. Because leather and manpower man-power shortages, with increased military demands, the supply is not adequate. The nation's stockpile is constantly being diminished. If it continues at the same rate of speed it is estimated that by Jan. 1946 there will only be one-half pair each. Our boys in the service must have the necessary supply of shoes. We must repair when possible and conserve in every way. |
