Show SALT LAKERS CHEER AIRMEN. Ely and Willard Make Successful Flights on the Sabbath Day. BaltY'ko City. After being post pened tMo days on account of the weathers a high wind having pre vailed, the aviation meet opened west of this city on Sunday, over 10.000 persons visiting the aviation field. The meet was a decided Buccess. Eugene Ely. in two flights, remained re-mained In the air thirty minutes, fit tetn seconds. In his second flight he soared over the Great Salt lake, seven miles from the flying field. He was numb from cold when he descended, de-scended, after being in the air twenty minutes and fifteen seconds. Ely flew 700 feet above Salt Lake's altitude alti-tude of 4,366 feet, giving him a record of 6.0G6 feet above sea level. Willard made three successful flights, the most sensational or the alterncon.
