Show VOUR BABY" CAMPAIGN SLT LAKE CITY, January 7 Utah babies long known as the State's best crop are again in the limelight. For four weeks past they have occupied front stage position through a "Register Your Baby campaign conducted by the State Board of Health in cooperation with the United States Bureau of the Census and Utah Federal Relief Administration one of 3 7 similar campaigns in as smany sstates throughout the nation. But now, with the campaign nearing its close, the Utah babies bab-ies are preparing to take their final campaign bow. It will be in response to the announcement that their home state leads all others in percentage of campaign cards returned evidence that their fathers and mothers showed more interest in their offspring than did those of any other commonwealth. com-monwealth. With the passing of four weeks since the "baby census" cards were distributed more than 8 30 0 have been filled in and returned to the State Board of Health for checking against existing records. This gives Utah a percentage pf approximately seventy per cent, as against sixty-six and three-tenths per cent for Vermont, Ver-mont, the leader until the Beehive Bee-hive State's results were made known by returned cards. The purpose of the campaign was two-fold; first, to increase-birth increase-birth registration and second, to check the accuracy or existing records. Another important objective ob-jective was the creating of interest in-terest in the State's vital statistics sta-tistics by tending to make the public more cognizant of the great importance, economically and socially, ot birth registration. "State Board of Health officials assscribed Utah's success in lead- ing the nation in campaign results re-sults to the fine cooperation given giv-en by newspapers, periodicals, patriotic, educational, civic and social groups, in arousing interest and bringing the campaign home to the parents. Parents of babies born within the past year, including the new year just begun, may still fill in and return a bjs ? card.
