Show High School Quint. Takes Fillmore Scalp The Milford high school basket ball quint, had very little difficulty In capturing the toupe of the Millard Mil-lard county high school outfit at Fillmore last Friday night. The northern boys put up a desperate scrap, but in spite of the fact that they were considerably larger than the local team they were inglorious-ly inglorious-ly defeated by a score of 41 to 15. The Fillmore team is putting in hard licks every day now, however, and swears that it will get sweet revenge in Milford a week from today. It has a new coach and is showing considerable con-siderable improvement over the first of the year. At Fillmore the game was clean and interesting. In the first half the Milford team hardly got into its stride and the half closed with a score of 14 to 8 in its favor. In the second half the boys staged one of their famous comebacks, and fairly swept their opponents off their feet, scoring 4 points for every 1 scored by the Fillmore team. The splendid team work was primarily pri-marily responsible for the victory. Each man played for the whole team. While Schowled the scoring and played a brilliant individual game, he was masterfully assisted by Stan Tanner, who played the whole floor and succeeded in caging six field baskets on his own account. Clint Bond at center was a mere pygmy by the side of the lanky Fillmore giant in that position, but nevertheless succeeded in holding his man down to one lone asket and caged four himself. Leo White was in the game every minute, in spite of a little lit-tle inaccurate passing in the first half, and he and Miller broke up innumerable in-numerable plays and sent the ball down the floor to our forwards. Miller's Mil-ler's only fault was an ambition to make a basket in the first half. After achieving his ideal, he settled down and played his guard position with his usual rare form. The line-up and summary follows: Milford Fillmore Schow f. Davis & Wood Tanner f. Bartholemew Bond c. Peterson Miller g. Brunson j White g. Hogan j Field baskets: Schow S, Tanner 6.
