Show CARELESS PRACTICE COMPLAINT comes to the News with request to call attention to the large holes being left open along certain cer-tain "city streets. They are supposedly those of some corporation building a line for public service. Children hurrying hurry-ing to and from school have been seen to narrowly escape falling into these openings left unprotected and even left -open at night without warning sign or lantern. Of course there is no intention of any one to subject the children or the public to danger, and if no one should be injured all would be well. But suppose that a child should fall into one of those pole holes and be seriously in-, jured? There would not only be cause for large damages but there would be a crippled child, pain, expense, sorrow, and a multitude of troubles for a number num-ber of people. "It's better to be safe than sorry." |
