Show NEW ORCHESTRA MAKES GOOD A splendid impression was made by the high school orchestra In its initial appearance before the students stu-dents at the assembly last Wednesday. Wednes-day. Three numbers were played In a decidedly finished manner, indicating indicat-ing thorough preparation and coaching. coach-ing. And this In spite of the fact that two members of the organization organiza-tion were unavoidably absent. The numbers were as follows: 1. Gentian Waltz 2 Calumet Mazurka 3 Pride of Chicago March. After the appearance of the orchestra, or-chestra, Mr. Morris had a half-dozen applications for membership and will endeavor to make room for at least some of them. He la in hopes that a public recital can be given at no distant date. The members of the orchestra with the Instruments they play are as follows: piano, Ethel 8chow and Vera White; violins, Irene Dinwiddle, Dinwid-dle, Cuma Bond, Annette Schow; baritone, Clinton Bond; cornets. Spencer Schow and Leo White; drums, Fred Cottrell. Just joined. William p'otheringham with solo alto al-to horn. This Is one of the moBt valuable val-uable of the high school activities and Mr. Morris 1b certainly to be congratulated upon the excellent beginning be-ginning that has been made. |
