Show BRC Director Attends College Meeting In Washington, D. C. Dr. H. Wayne Driggs, director of the Branch Agricultural college, col-lege, returned to the campus this week after attending a conference confer-ence in Washington, D. C, of the heads of the 48 land-grant colleges col-leges in the United States. Purpose of the meeting was to discuss problems confronting the land-grant schools in the present pres-ent unstable world situation, especially es-pecially in connection with the military setup. All land-grant colleges have ROTC training in-corporated in-corporated with the regular col-lege col-lege work. Principal speaker at the conference con-ference held from Nov. 13 to 16 was Dr. Alfred F. Adams, newly elected president of the American Ameri-can Council on Education, and formerly president of the University Univer-sity of New Hampshire. Also appearing ap-pearing as speakers were Eric Severed. CBS news analyst, Charles Brannan, U. S. Secretary of Agriculture. Dr. Driggs attended the meeting meet-ing with Dr. L. L. Madsen. presi-dent presi-dent of the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college, Dr. R. H. Walker, dean of the school of agriculture; agricul-ture; Carl Frischknecht, head of the extension service, and Dr. Ethelyn O. Greave, dean of the school of home economics. |
