Show City Council Names New Man to Local Police Force Another police officer was added ad-ded to the Cedar City force by the City Council last Thursday, with the appointment of Charles C. Wells, according to Hal Christensen. Chris-tensen. councilman in charge of public safety. Mr. Wells has been a resident of Cedar City for the past two years. Prior to that time he had served as chief of police In Glen-wood Glen-wood Springs, Colo., for 8 years. His police work experience dates back to 1931, and he had served on various forces in Nevada Ne-vada and California. The Cedar force now includes five men: Chief Tony Lambert. George Manning. William Hills, Pete Wood and Wells. The force has been undermanned, under-manned, according to Mr. Christensen, Chris-tensen, with four men handling a 24-hour shift. During October. 300 calls were answered by the department. |
