Show NEWCASTLE Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Simpson and family of Las Vegas, Nev., spent part of last week visiting relatives and friends in this locality. lo-cality. Mr. Simpson is a Lieutenant Lieu-tenant in the U. S. Army and has been stationed in Alaska for the past 18 months. Mrs. Simpson is the former Miss Katherine Gillies. An evening of games and dancing for the children was given by the Primary officers Friday, Nov. 17. Peanuts and homemade candy were sold for fund raising and a nice enjoyable enjoy-able evening was spent. Mrs. Ruth Ward has gone to Cedar City to help care for her mother, Mrs. Herbert Knell who is receiving medical treatment there. Mrs.- Gordon Knell is home fron. the Iron County hospital and is recovering satisfactorily. Several women from Parowan, members of the Daughters of Pioneers camp, spent a day here recently with Thomas W. Forsyth as a guide to help them gather up some pioneer relics and mmkers to be used in future celebrations of the settling of Parowan. Mr. Forsyth had many ma-ny articles in his possession which he has acquired and cared for through the years, which he presented to the visitors. |
