Show Funeral Services Conducted For Thos, Crookston Simple but impressive funeral services were held Thursday afternoon after-noon of last week at the Byron Crookston home for Thomas Crooks-ton, Crooks-ton, oldest resident of this city, who died the preceding Tuesday morning. Bishop Joseph H. Storrs was in charge of the services. Mrs. C. E. Young sang "O Love Divine" accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. - West Hammond, Ham-mond, after which the opening prayer was offered by W. W. Hunter. Hunt-er. Mrs. Byron Crookston then read, a biographical sketch of the life ,of the deceased, after which President C, E. Young spoke. He commented upon the sketch and j the incidents which were common to all sturdy pioneers 'who were I builders of this state. The closing musical number was a solo by Mrs. Young, "No Night There" accompanied by Mrs. Hammond. Ham-mond. The benediction was pronounced pro-nounced by Bishop Storrs. Interment was made in the city 'cemetery- where the grave was dedicated ded-icated by- Clyde P. Crookston. The servioes were very well attended, at-tended, and the esteem for the deceased de-ceased 8-nd his family were reflected re-flected in the many lovely flowers. |
