Show Mrs. Ella Martin is spending several days in Alpine visiting at the home of Mrs. Frank Bateman. Joe Bazone Indlmall daughter, Zilpha, are here this week visiting with Mrs. Bazone's mother, Mrs. C. M. Beck. Mrs. Ephriam Otterson, Miss Vel-ma Vel-ma Otterson and Miss Estelle Hardy Har-dy of Riverton motored down Tuesday Tues-day and visited with Mrs. Rose H. Grant. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Miller and family motored to Heber Sunday and spent the day visiting with Mrs. Miller's mother and other relatives. rel-atives. Mrs M. C Michelson and daughter, daugh-ter, Irene, of Seattle, Washington, spent last week here with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Berk. Mrs. Mickelson and Mr. Birk are cousins. Ths many friends here of Glen Sykes will be glad to learn he is steadily improving in the L. D. S. hospital and expects to be able to return home before long. Thornton Birk, local songster, is singing regularly each Wednesday and Thursday nights on the Paramount Para-mount Theatre programs in Provo. He has done considerable theatre I singing in Provo, which speaks well 'for his ability to entertain. The Fourth ward M. I. A. members mem-bers enjoyed a real treat Tuesday ndgh.t following the Honor Night program. Two barbecued lambs were served to those attending; and all report the refreshments to have been most excellent. The program preceding the barbecue included dancing entertainment from Provo which also was very much enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Christensen have returned home from a four day business trip into Idaho. They had the pleasure of visiting with Dr. and Mrs. P. M. Kelly in St. Anthony, -whom they found feeling feel-ing fine and making plans to visit their children in the east as well as take in the World's Fair in Chicago. - In Idaho rails, they visited with Mrs. Louise Dowd who accompanied' them to American Fork for a visit. All along the way they noted unusual un-usual activity in farming in spite of the heavy drifts of snow in some places. U Am. Fork Locals Mr. and Mrs. David S. Taylor and daughter, Shirley, motored to Salt Lake Saturday and visited with Glen Sykes at the L. D. S. hospital. Mrs. "West Hammond of this city has been elected song and cheer leader of the Utah County 4-H club organization. Merrill War-nick War-nick of "Manilla was reelected president. pres-ident. Other officers named were:: "Fred Weight, Springville, viceprss-ident; viceprss-ident; Miss Clara Moore, Spanish Fork, secretary; Mrs. Mable Stewart, Stew-art, Payson and Glen Gillman, Orem, recreation leaders; and Mrs. West Hammond, American Fork, song and cheer leader; Mrs. A. E. Adams, Lehi, director. Projects adopted for the county 4-H clubs this year are forestry, poultry, dairying, sheep, beef and swine raising, cooking and clothing. A senior home science club is a new organization to take up the study of various homemakimg projects. pro-jects. This will be for boys and girls from 17 years of age and up. |
