Show Ten Years Ago Now (Taken from files of May 5, 1923.) Ten Years Ago Now--Lynn Comer, the 6on of Mr. and Mrs. John Comer died in Ogden of goitre poisoning. Mrs. Comer is a sister of Robert E, Lee of this city. He was buried in Lehi, their former form-er home. Ten Years Ago Now-All Now-All is in readiness for the first scheduled basketball game next Wednesday Wed-nesday when A, F. plays Heber at the city park here. According to Manager Holmstead the following have been selected and signed up on the local team: "Hap" Holmstead, manager; Ralph Barratt, Addie Miller, Mill-er, Allen Shelley, Eslie Bennett, Eddie Ed-die Larson, Grant Ingersoll, Elijah Chipman, Pete Condor, Walter Durrant, Dur-rant, Jack Morgan, "Doc" Homer, George Binch, Otto Birk and Coach Twitchell. Ten Years Ako Now Property assessments in Utah Co. .show slight increase this year over those of 1922 in spite of a material loss in personal property on the tax rolls caused by the shut clown last year of the Payson sugar factory and a slowing up in production of sugar at the Lehi and Spanish Folk plains. The annual report of the county assessor .shows a total property value exclusive of mines and public utilities utili-ties amounting to $34,G52,8fiG compared com-pared With S34.G20.078 in 1922. Ten Years Ago Now Vivian Mary Lee, the little daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Lee, died of brain fever. The Second ward reunion was IvAd Thursday night, in the tabernacle. A program, including a Japanese playlet play-let under the direction of A. I'ay Olpin, dancing, and refreshments were enjoyed. Ten Years Ago Now How's this for salesmanship? Co. resigned his position from the store Saturday evening. Ten Years Ago Now Mr. Oscar R. Lee, brother to Robert Rob-ert E. Lee made a visit to American Fork. He is living in Colorado. |
